Enriching Competitions Which Inspire Children To Engage In Sport Away From School
As part of achieving the school games mark, primary schools must engage their pupils in a set amount of competitions each year. Competitions form an integral part of an excellent PE curriculum, ensuring pupils have opportunities to put what they’ve learnt in lessons into practice whilst also developing life long skills such as team work and resilience. Competitions against local schools can often be a catalyst for your children to go on and join a local club or to take their passion for sport further.
Total Sports has been running exciting and all encompassing competitions now for 17 years across York and the wider Yorkshire region. Our competitions calendars are accessible for pupils of all sporting backgrounds, we understand not all children are mad about football or dodgeball! Our inter and intra-school competitions are suited for children from reception to year 6 and have fun and inclusion at heart.

School Competitions Which Inspire
Exciting and diverse competitions play a crucial role in your children’s PE development journey. Your pupils should be engaged in healthy competitive sport from an early age with skill and personal development being at the core. Our competition calendar ensures active and inactive pupils have opportunities to engage in PE in a range of sports whether is is football, dodgeball, netball, hockey, parachute, athletics or capture the flag!
Our competitions are inter and intra, meaning your children get to enjoy competitive sport against one another at their school and also at other schools. Across the year, all pupils at our schools have the opportunities to engage in competitive action at least once every half term. These competitions are optional for pupils and schools and are designed around what our schools ask for.
Total Sports Primary School PE competitions are structured in a manner which ensures your children have a build of lessons before, meaning they are able to put their learning to the test and see their development in game situations. Our competitions also offer pupils opportunities to engage in extra curricular clubs away from schools, continuing to promote a love for sport.
