Our PPA cover packages are designed to work for you and your school. We are flexible and dynamic in our approach and can provide support for full days, mornings, afternoons or whenever else you require additional staff. Our full time teaching staff are confident in assuming the role of the teacher, providing a seamless transition from your staff. Our team are able to take control from the initial planning of sessions, to the registration, to changing pupils, to delivery of sessions, to feeding back to teachers and finally to dismissing your children; we embed ourselves into your routines and school life.

    How Do We Provide Schools With Consistently Excellent PPA Solutions?

    We are proud to work in a range of diverse settings across the breadth of Yorkshire. From large inner city schools to small rural schools with less than 30 pupils on roll. Our provision is dynamic and tailored to meet the needs of our schools! Here is how we ensure our schools receive the best possible PPA solutions;

    • Same staff member every single week. Our staff member becomes a part of your team and gets to know your children, routines, school community and general school life. You will have the same staff member year round.
    • Packages designed to suit your needs- we can attend your school when you need us whether this is an afternoon, morning or the full week. We also deliver your before & after school clubs.
    • We assume the role of the teacher and take care of all of the small details during the day- our staff are experienced and proficient in taking full classes independently, ensuring your daily routines are continued.
    • We will always provide a staff member to cover your PPA even if your regular staff member is off. We don’t let schools down, you can guarantee your PPA is sorted for the year!
    • We deliver outstanding PE sessions to your children ensuring all pupils make progress. Working from an OFSTED approved scheme of work, supporting our coaches with weekly training sessions and observing our staff each month enables us to ensure your children receive year round excellent PE during PPA time.
    • Experienced and qualified staff at your school. All of our staff come from qualified teaching backgrounds, sports degrees or sports coaching courses, our team have taught PE in schools for a number of years and know how to get the very best from your pupils!
    • With teachers at the heart of the business with over 50 years of classroom experience, we know exactly what an outstanding PE curriculum looks like in schools. We sit down with your senior team and run an initial health check, utilising our experience and knowledge we organise your curriculum to ensure it goes above and beyond for your children and staff and that when OFSTED come, you exceed their expectations.

    How Would Total Sports PPA Cover Work In My School?

    Our provision is specifically designed to meet your requirements and school. The most common ways in which we support our schools are;

    • Full day PPA cover and after school club; Our coach arrives at the start of the day and takes classes as children arrive at school. We deliver PE lessons whilst your staff team are having their PPA time. We teach according to the long term plan of the school or to our own set planning and take a range of year groups across the day. At the end of the day we feedback to teaches how their children have been and any important information they need ahead of tomorrow. After the school day has finished, our coach takes an after school club which is organised by our office team, the after school club can be based on any sport and for any year group.
    • A morning of PPA cover; Similar to the above, our coach delivers PE curriculum sessions to your children for the morning. Our coach can also lead play leader training at break time or lunchtime to up skill children to deliver games to their peers.
    • An afternoon of PPA cover with an after school club; Our coach arrives at lunchtime, delivers a lunchtime play leader training club and then takes PE curriculum sessions for the afternoon. At the end of the day our coach stays at school to deliver an after school club.

    How Does My School Finance Total Sports PPA Cover?

    We understand that budgets are always incredibly tight in schools and that every penny must be put to best use. Our packages are designed to suit your settings needs and capabilities and are maximised to ensure your children get the most from them!

    Our rates are different according to each schools needs and this is something which is discussed at an initial meeting. However, our rates are significantly cheaper than hiring a HLTA or TA, paying their wage, N.I and the extras which come alongside this. Our packages are also highly competitive compared to supply agencies and other providers- teachers at the heart of our business means we understand what it’s like for senior leaders trying to make every penny count and our mission is for you to have an excellent and consistent PPA provider who are always there to support your school.
